I managed to save so much energy

As a Student Switch Off Ambassador at Warwick this year, it has been an absolutely enriching experience to be involved with a cause that I am so passionate about! Through the year, I managed to save so much energy just by ensuring I remember to do extremely simple tasks such as turning a light switch off or using a lid to cover my pan while I’m cooking. I also got the opportunity to visit halls around campus and encourage other students to save energy by motivating them to enter contests to win ice cream (this naturally worked quite well ;)).
I shared my newfound knowledge regarding energy saving with all my flat mates at Heronbank, and I was ecstatic to see that they became much more responsible towards the environment since then. In fact, every time we have dinner together in the kitchen, we always ensure that all the taps are closed tightly and the lights are turned off when we leave. I hope to continue spreading awareness regarding the environment throughout the year and convince more people just how simple it is to create a lasting impact!
