The SAVES2 project officially started on the 1st of May 2017, however it was only 20 - 21st of June that the full team met in person to discuss the 3.5 year project. The meeting, took place in Brussels, Belgium, and was attended by 13 people, representing the 11 organisations involved - National Union of Students of the United Kingdom, Union of Students in Ireland, University of Bucharest, University of Sofia, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, University of Cyprus, Technical University of Crete, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, De Montfort University, Ecovisum and UNICA. A couple of members of EASME, the branch from the European Commission responsible for the Horizon 2020 fund also attended, setting the EU context to the project.
The meeting involved many fruitful discussions, planning the next stages of the project and ensuring that all partners are equipped with the knowledge to start delivering the Student Switch Off campaign to students from September 2017. Everyone is very excited to create positive impact on energy saving, through helping raise awareness around energy efficiency measures and behaviour change.
