The University of Cyprus’ reputation as an in institution that raises environmental consciousness amongst the local community has just been boosted. The University has the ambition to be at the forefront of the sustainable development agenda, here in Cyprus.
Having said that, it was only a matter of time before our University got a media coverage featuring its accomplishments in fulfilling its targets in relation to the environment protection!! On Sunday, 10th of January 2016, our University was presented in a show covering all environmental issues in Cyprus, produced by the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation.
Amongst the environmental policy the University Cyprus maintains, we were excited that the show also covered our own SAVES program! Our project team had a chance to talk about SAVES and inform the public about the program’s goals, objectives and achievements.
Additionally, two Student Ambassadors, Maria Leonidou and Antrei Kousnir, talked about their experiences and shared their thoughts about the SAVES program, and encouraged more students to take part!
Since one of the main goals of the SAVES team in general is to get the project known throughout social media, in our local communities, the featuring of our program through this show has given us great pleasure and enthusiasm! We hope that the media coverage will spread out the word about our program to the local community and hopefully attract more interest and possibly initiate new collaborations.
