The Student Switch Off campaign has come to an end for the 2nd year running and winners were announced in June 2016. The work however hasn’t stopped for the project team, who has continued to work on the project behind the scenes, already planning for academic year 2016-17.
All SAVES project partners met face-to-face on 12th-13th July to discuss and evaluate the last two years of the project, and plan how the campaign will run from September 2016. The meeting took place at the Technical University of Crete, one of the participating universities in the project. Over the two days, project partners also discussed the biggest successes of the two years (including media coverage and conference presentations, winning an award, the campaign successfully finishing with celebrations at participating dormitory providers), and the challenges (such as keeping the engagement up throughout the academic year, ensuring accurate energy data is available and making sure the campaign is adapted to local settings).
By all accounts, the meeting went well, with specific actions planned for the coming year. Project partners had the privilege of visiting/seeing the student dormitories taking part in the project, finding out more about what the Technical University of Crete is doing, and enjoying the Cretan sunshine (in our spare time of course!). We are looking forward to another successful year!
